Cross-country skiing at Lake Achensee
Lake Achensee is one of Tirol’s most renowned Nordic skiing centres. With over 228 kilometres of groomed trails, the region around Tirol’s largest lake offers endless possibilities. Whether you’re gliding along gently rolling tracks by the lakeshore or challenging your endurance on routes deep in the Karwendel valleys, Tirol’s Sports & Vitality Park promises a famously diverse skiing adventure. Recognized as one of Tirol’s cross-country skiing specialists, the region guarantees exceptional quality, proudly carrying the “Tirol Cross-Country Skiing Seal of Quality”.
At Lake Achensee, classic and skate-skiing enthusiasts each have dedicated tracks for an ideal experience. A modern signage system, handy trail maps, an interactive tour planner with detailed route descriptions, and daily snow reports all help you make the most of your day on the trails. Lake Achensee is, in fact, the cradle of professional cross-country skiing instruction. Gustav Leithner, founder of the Pertisau Ski School, wrote the first official curriculum for professional cross-country skiing instruction in the late 1970s, which still serves as the basis for instructor training today.

Cross-Country Skiing Opening
The Cross-Country Skiing Opening in December is the perfect way to kick off your winter sports season. You'll have the chance to try taster sessions for beginners and advanced skiers in both skating and classical techniques, as well as equipment tests and much more.

Achensee cross-country skiing camps
The camps provide the perfect opportunity for both beginners and returners to learn or improve their skills, get tips on technique, and try out equipment. The experience is further enhanced by social activities. New this season is an advanced skating technique session led by a certified cross-country ski instructor.
